Introducing commonly used underground mining equipment

Feb. 16, 2021

Underground mining is the process of extracting ore from nuggets in underground deposits. It is usually suitable for deposits where the ore body is buried deeply and is not economically and technically suitable for open-pit mining. The underground mining system mainly includes production management, rock drilling, blasting, ore extraction, ore sliding system, underground crushing, skip lifting and lifting derrick system. There are many classifications of underground mining methods. The commonly used methods are based on ground pressure management methods and are divided into three categories: natural support mining method, artificial support mining method and caving mining method.

Some common equipment for underground mining applications include:

1.Boring machine: Mainly used for underground mining. According to different mining methods, it can be divided into tunnel boring machine and face boring machine.
2. Rock drilling rigs: used for underground or surface drilling, and can be divided into types such as jet-jet drilling rigs, anchor drilling rigs, and horizontal directional drilling rigs.
3. Mining truck: a heavy-duty truck used for material transportation inside the mine, including side dump, dump, self-dump and other types.
4. Mining cranes: used for hoisting heavy objects such as ores, equipment and workers, including mast cranes, tower cranes, gantry cranes, etc.
5. Ball mill: Ball mill is a kind of grinding equipment widely used in mineral processing, cement, chemical industry, building materials and other industries.
6. Ore dressing shaker: The ore dressing shaker, also called a gravity concentrator, is a device that uses water or other liquid media to classify materials based on the difference in specific gravity of different materials.
7. Magnetic separator: Magnetic separator is a kind of mineral processing equipment. It uses a magnetic field to separate and extract ore according to the different magnetic substances in the ore.
8. Jig: Jig, also called pulse concentrator or wave concentrator, is a device that uses water or other liquids as a medium to impact materials through periodic high-speed water flow to classify different materials according to specific rules.
9. Loader: used to load ore or materials, and can be used with mining trucks for short-distance transportation.
10. Crusher: Used to break large pieces of ore or rock into small pieces for subsequent processing or transportation.
11. Belt conveyor: used to transport ores or materials, with the characteristics of long distance, large transportation volume and high speed.
12. Mining mixer: used to stir and mix various materials in underground mines.
13. Bolt support machine: used to install anchors in underground mining operations and support tunnels and stopes.
14. Ventilator: used to deliver fresh air to the interior of underground mines and discharge waste gas and dust at the same time.
15. Mining hoist: used to lift ore, equipment, personnel, etc. from underground to the surface or lower from the ground to the ground.
16. Feeder: used to feed ore or materials evenly into subsequent processing equipment.
17. Filter: used to filter and separate solid impurities in liquids, often used for liquid-solid separation in the mineral processing process.
18. Filter press: used to separate filter cake and liquid, often used for solid-liquid separation in the mineral processing process.
19. Mill: including ball mill, rod mill, pebble mill, etc., used to grind ore into fine particles for subsequent beneficiation or processing.
20. Flotation machine: used in the flotation process in mineral processing to separate minerals with different specific gravity.
21. Jig: Used to classify and separate minerals during the gravity selection process.
22. Magnetic separator: used in the magnetic separation process in mineral processing to separate magnetic minerals and non-magnetic minerals.
23. Electric separator: used in the electrical separation process in mineral processing, using the differences in conductivity and dielectric constant between different minerals for separation.

24. Centrifuge: used to separate and dehydrate solid particles in liquids. It is often used for liquid-solid separation and dehydration in the mineral processing process.

25. Concentrator: used to concentrate and settle solid particles in liquid, often used for solid-liquid separation and concentration in the mineral processing process.
26. Dryer: used to dry wet minerals for subsequent processing or transportation.
27. Roasting furnace: used to roast minerals in order to extract useful components or change their physical and chemical properties.
28. Distillation column: used to distill liquid mixtures in order to separate different components.
29. Press: used to squeeze and dehydrate the water in the filter cake to facilitate subsequent processing or transportation.
30. Centrifugal pump: used to transport liquids and slurries, with the characteristics of high pressure, large flow rate and stable performance.
31. Water ring pump: A positive displacement pump that uses water as the working medium and is suitable for transporting liquids containing solid particles.
32. Slurry pump: A centrifugal pump that can transport slurry containing solid particles and has high wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
33. Submersible pump: A centrifugal pump that can operate submerged in water and is suitable for transporting clean water or lightly polluted water.
34. Canned pump: A pump driven by a magnetic field, suitable for transporting flammable, explosive or corrosive liquids.
35. Self-priming pump: A centrifugal pump with self-priming function, suitable for transporting liquids containing gas or situations where the pump needs to be stopped and restarted frequently.
